The movie shows how Goldin rise to prominence in the New York art world by documenting the sex workers, political radicals, bar dancers, and even some queer personalities during 70s and 80s while advocating for the destigmatization of the drug addiction caused by a pharma company backed by the Sacklers.
The film is produced by award winning filmmaker Laura Poitras, Yoni Golijov, John Lyons, Nan Goldin, and Clare Carter under HBO Documentary Films along with Participant Media, and Praxis Films. Amy Foote, Joe Bini, and Brian A Kates have edited and combined the clips.

This movie is an absolute gem because Goldin has included everything she has without fearing anything. The film is able to secure 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, a rating of 8 on IMDb, and 91% score on Metacritic with 26 critic reviewers. It was a great visual artist documentary that needs to be continued as a series.
