Hunters returned with a second season on 13 Jan 2023 shocking fans with the finale that leaves the fan searching for a Hunters season 3 release date but that is nowhere to be seen.
Created by David Weil, the conspiracy thriller series appeared three years ago in Feb 2020 and even nominated for Golden Globe awards in 2021, Al Pacino recieved the best actor nomination for this TV series drama that talks about the real Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City.
The second season has still left most of the viewers amazed through another compelling story that takes place in two different timelines, one belongs to Jonah with the hunters while the other one follows Meyer Offerman as the supreme executioner.
Will there be a season 3 of Hunters?
Hunters season 3 won’t happen because the original network has cancelled the series after two seasons. Amazon made the official renewal announcement in August 2020 that the series has been renewed for a second season.
However, it wasn’t clear at the time of renewal that there will be a season 3 or not but in November 2022, Amazon officially announced that they are planning to end the series after a second season that was scheduled to premiere in Jan 2023.
The second season contains just eight episodes as compared to a total of ten episodes in the season 1. This episode cut also shows that the Bezos network isn’t interested anymore in extending the series. Moreover, the network is busy in bringing Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan season 4 and that’s why there will be no season 3 of Hunters.
Now, you might be wondering what if some other network (like Netflix) can pickup the series and renew it for another season. That also seems unlikely because Amazon has already burn a lot of money to make the series and it doesn’t seem like any other network will put that much money.
What could be the plot of Hunters season 3?
Travis, a neo Nazi could be the main villain of Hunters season 3 as he escaped at the end of second season leaving the series on a major cliffhanger. His return will be worth watching and his plans to lead the Fourth Reich will be revealed.
Do you think Nazi hunters will spare Travis and let him continuing his sinister job? Definitely not, Jonah can be seen tracking a Nazi at a Miami restaurant and if he will be able to capture that Nazi then he can do miracles. Jonah might interrogate him and know some secrets of the evil Travis.
Even though, Hitler was sent behind the bars but the actual villain is still wandering freely in Germany and his spies are moving freely in the streets of New York. However, Jonah and his syndicate would continue tracking down the Nazis and execute them for their evil deeds in Hunters season 3.

Who will return in Hunters season 3?
The main cast members that are expected to return for Hunters season 3 are Logan Lerman, Al Pacino, Saul Rubinek, Lena Olin, Carol Kane, Greg Austin, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dylan Baker, and Udo Kier.
Logan Lerman will play the role of Jonah Heidelbaum as a young math genius who joined the Nazi hunters project due to his goodwill to fight against the evil. He was seen chasing a nazi secretly. Most likely, he will be able to catch the man and bring him to justice after knowing some secrets of Travis.
Al Pacino has added life in the series with his role of a Polish Jewish philanthropist and a holocaust survivor Meyer Offerman in the Hunters. He is not only a survivor but a warrior who recruits and leads the army of Nazi hunters. It was the first ever TV series role of the actor and he nailed it with the awesome acting that attracted a Golden Globe nomination.
Finally, we have Greg Austin who is playing the role of an American neo-nazi acolyte who can also be the main villain of Hunters season 3 if happen. The actor has studied various psychopathic and narcissitic characters including Ted Bundy.
