Zootopia 2 has been officially confirmed after the long wait for seven years. With the return of the same production team, Disney has given the good news that we all have been waiting for since a very long time.
First part of the CGI animated movie touched $1 Billion mark under a budget of $150 Million and yes, the movie definitely deserved it.
The massive success of the film surprised everyone, the rating, viewership, and the huge box office collection brought another revolution to Walt Disney Pictures in 2016.
Today, we will try to figure out the latest developments in the Disney studio that might lead to the development of a sequel.
Is there a Zootopia 2 coming out on Disney?
Yes, Disney has confirmed that a sequel is under development along with the sequels of Frozen and Toy Story. The official announcement has been made by CEO Bob Iger in February 2023 during Q1 earnings call.
It has been announced the original creative team of “Zootopia” will return for the sequel, including co-directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore, and writer Jared Bush.
There were rumors in 2017 that Zootopia 2 was in progress and then, both the directors (Byron & Rich) were in talks of producing another part of Zootopia in 2018 but that wasn’t official that time.
Fans were hoping to see a sequel but there was no ray of hope at that time that could point to the development of a sequel but in Feb 2023, Disney seems to have fulfilled their promise for bringing a sequel, better late than never.
Zootopia+ TV Series
The Walt Disney Animation Studios has released a six episode animated series on 9 Nov 2022 for Disney+ subscribers whose story sets in six different timelines. We will be able to see another part of the movie if this series performed well or we can consider Zootopia+ as the real Zootopia 2.
Zootopia 2 Release Date and Time
The first Zootopia film was announced at the D23 Expo in 2013 but the movie wasn’t released inside the US cinemas until 2016.
Since a sequel has been already confirmed by Disney in February 2023, we can expect Zootopia 2 to be released sometime in 2024 like the first movie.
Fans are thrilled to see the see a sequel and it is predicted to be another masterpiece and to make that kind of story, the writers have to work hard behind the ropes.
Ginnifer Goodwin is expected to give her voice for Judy Hopps while Jason Bateman will be Nick Wilde in the Zootropolis 2.
Also, the creation of those dashing visuals of Nick and Judy requires a lot of dedication and committment. You an make animation but that feeling of satisfaction is different that we and all fans are expecting from Disney.
Even though, Zootopia works as a single movie, a sequel will be much appreciated like the season 2 of The Old Man series on Paramount+.

What to expect from Zootopia 2?
Nick and Judy are working together to eradicate criminals from the city. On the other hand, an evil spy Gorki is planning to steal an important document from a secret factory.
Will he able to steal the document in front of the cops when Nick are Judy are in the capital city of Charmingtown where Ferb is also creating a potion that will turn all herbivores into carnivores. What’s going on here?
The plot of second part is going to be much more crazy than the first one. Most likely, we will see the marriage of Nick and Judy along with the introduction of several new characters.
Jared Bush and Phil Johnson are working on somthing huge that will probably blow your mind. The creative team of Zootopia has already proven their ability to deliver a compelling story and stunning visuals.
So, we are expecting to see the same kind of heartwarming scenes with lots of humor that will leave you crave for Zootopia 3 in the future.
