Let the Right One In season 2 Release Date, Showtime Cast, Trailer, Plot Updates

Let the Right One In season 2 is one of the most anticipated season of the Showtime’s psychological horror series developed by Andrew Hinderaker.

Based on a 2004 best selling novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist, the series also draws its inspiration from the 2008 Swedish film that centers on a man named Mark (Demian Bichir) whose life changed 10 years ago when her twelve year old daughter Eleanor (Anika Noni Rose) turned into a vampire.

The American horror television series is produced by Demian Bichir under Collosal Productions, Hammer, Tomorrow Studios, and Showtime Networks. Andrew Hinderaker, Becky Clements, Seith Mann, and Marty Adelstein are executive producers for the series that premiered on 9 Oct 2022.

Will there be a season 2 of Let the Right One In?

Let the Right One In won’t get a season 2 as Showtime Network has officially canceled it. The channel issued an official statement on 30 Jan 2023 that says, ‘Showtime will not move forward with a second season.’

We were already saying that the chances of happening a sequel season are pretty low because the show has received mixed reviews from the critics and also it hasn’t attracted a lot of viewers like usual vampire shows do and finally, it has been cancelled.

However, fans are still loving the series for its highly dramatic and horror themed storyline but those viewers who have watched only a few episodes are feeling betrayed because all the episodes have been removed from Showtime.

The network doesn’t seem to be in good condition and that’s why, Paramount CEO Bob Bakish announced that they are planning to dissolve the streaming service into Paramount+ and the channel will be rebranded as Paramount+ with Showtime.

Not only Let The Right One In Season 2 but Dexter New Blood and American Gigolo season 2 are also included in the list of cancellations revealed by the Showtime network.

However, Paramount is focusing on their originals. That’s why Tulsa King has been renewed real quick just after the release of a few episodes on the network.

What creator Andrew Hinderaker is saying?

Even though, Andrew Hinderaker has shared his plans for a potential sequel while talking to Collider in Oct 2022. He opens the possibilities of more seasons by explaining a relationship that exists between a parent and a child. Mark will go through various phases for his child, let’s see how it goes.

The showrunner even revealed that he was already in the writer’s room for a season 2 when asked by Syfy about their vision on the screen. Hinderaker also shared that Mark has fed his daughter and she understands that well.

When does Let the Right One In season 2 come out?

There are chances that the show will receive a renewal but still, Showtime hasn’t made any official announcement regarding the renewal or cancellation of the series so no release date is set for the release of Let the Right One In season 2.

Season 1 was ordered for ten episodes in Sep 2021 and the series entered into production in early 2022 ahead of the first episode premiere on 9 Oct 2022 on Showtime inside the United States.

A second season is possible only if some other network such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime will pick up the series. If the show receives an official renewal in March 2023 like Tulsa King then we can expect Let the Right One In sequel to be released around 2024 with 10 new episodes.

Who will be in the cast of Let the Right One In season 2?

Demian Bichir and Madison Taylor Baez are the main cast members of the show so they will definitely return to reprise their respective roles as Mark and Eleanor Kane in Let the Right One In season 2.

Alongside Bichir and Baez, we are expecting the return of Grace Gummer as Dr Claire, Ian Foreman as Isaiah Cole, Nick Stahl as Matthew, Jacob Buster as Peter/Boy, Anika Noni Rose as Naomi Cole, and Kevin Carroll as Zeke Dawes.

What will happen in Let the Right One In season 2?

The second season will open the story right after season 1 ended where Eleanor turned Naomi into a vampire. Eleanor did that to save Naomi’s life because she didn’t want to see the sad face of her best friend on losing her mother.

Now, the question is, will Naomi kill others to stay alive? How will she able to do her detective job when she is unable to travel in the daylight? Even after Claire’s insistance to kill Naomi, Mark didn’t took any action because he has developed a special type of relationship with Naomi and the thought of killing her scares him so much.

Will Mark continue to bring bodies for her daughter? What was inside the experimental serum that Claire has injected into Eleanor’s body? Was it a success? All those questions will be left answered as Let the Right One In season 2 is not happenning on Showtime.
