Prime Video subsribers have got another dark comedy series with a debatable storyline, the series is so magnetic that fans want Swarm season 2.
While Apple TV+ continues to add millions of new viewers by creating novel adaptations like Unstable, Amazon has also shown that they are good with original storylines.
The satirical horror comedy series is created by Janine Nabers and Donald Glover and produced by Amazon Studios with Stephen Glover, Fam Udeorji, Steven Prinz, and Michael Schaefer as executive producers.
Will there be Swarm Season 2?
Swarm series has not been renewed for a second season at the time of writing in April 2023 but we are expecting the psychological thriller series to receive a renewal soon.
Even though, the showrunner Janine Nabers has hinted that there will be no season 2 of Swarm by calling it as a limited series, there are still chances of happening another season.
The show can be renewed because it has attracted a decent number of viewers and the popularity of the show kept on increasing among viewers especially young adult audience.
Moreover, the series ended on a huge cliffhanger that showed Dre jumping on the stage at Ni’Jah concert. What happened after that? Was she in her dream or that was real?
When is Swarm season 2 coming out?
It would be too early to make any conclusion because season 2 of Swarm is not yet officially announced by Amazon or any of the show creator except Nabers who negates the possibility of a potential second season.
However, if we start waiting for the series renewal like nothing happened then our waiting period for this series should be 1-2 months. If the renewal happens in April 2023 then the filming will began in June 2023 that will wrap around Sep 2023.
The post production will take another 7-8 months as this type of psychological thriller requires a lot of concentration but the end result is always surprising. Swarm season 2 is expected to be release around May 2024 with seven new episodes of 30 minutes running time each.
Fans are also waiting for the arrival of The Consultant season 2 at Amazon Prime Video. The hit psychological thriller series of Prime Video is still under Top 10 list of Amazon’s most watched thriller series of 2023.
Who will cast in season 2 of Swarm?
Well, Dre has already finished a lot of characters in season 1. So, the chances of returning characters are extremely rare but we will be able to see the killer woman herself.
Only Dominique Fishback is expected to return as Dre in the potential Swarm season 2 of the series with all new cast members or it would not be wrong to say, the new victims for the popstar obsessed young woman.
We have seen Dre throughout the series and have to say that the actress nailed in every aspect. There is a reason why people are praising Fishback’s character while the guest appearances of English singer Billie Eilish and Chloe Bailey have also been praised by the critics.
Is there any trailer for the Swarm season 2?
Only a season 1 trailer has been released by Prime Video that you can watch right now on YouTube. A second season trailer or teaser will become available 3-4 months before releasing.
Season 1 Overview
Season 1 was about Dre’s dangerous obsession with a famous pop star that led to the killings of various innocents from her hands. The show begins with Dre who loves Ni’Jah and tries every possible way to meet her at the stage.
Following the suicide of her sister Marissa (Chloe Bailey), Dre turns her life as a murderer and her obsession with Beyonce inspired singer grow exceptionally dark that she doesn’t hesitate to commit heinous murders.
Agent Alex is going to do the same in Alex Rider Season 3, another murder thriller seires that has also received positive reviews from the critics and no young person wants to say bye to this series.
What to expect from Swarm season 2?
In the finale episode, we saw Dre changed her name as Tony to attend the concert of her favorite singer. Tony is shown strangling Rashida and threatened to burn her body and finally, the series ends with Tony and Ni’Jah cuddling.
Now, the question arises in the mind of viewers that what happened with Dre. Was she really able to meet her favorite pop star or she was just hallucinatng? No doubt, the young girl had hallucinations.
