The Big Door Prize is the latest comedy series of Apple TV+ developed by Canadian filmmaker David West Read for Apple Studios.
Based on the book of the same by New York Times bestselling author M.O. Walsh, the series talks about a miraculous invention that can tell your true destiny.
With the help of merely 2 dollars the intelligent machine claims to reveal your hidden potential using your DNA.
The series is produced by Matthew Spiegel, MO Walsh, Richard J Anobile, and Lauren Heath under two Korean: CJ ENM, Studio Dragon, and one American production company Skydance Television.
First three episodes have been released recently on 29 March 2023 on Apple TV+ and fans are stunned with the places featured in the series. They are craving to visit the same place and that’s why we have decided to cover each location that was used for shooting.
Where is The Big Door Prize filmed?
The Big Door Prize season 1 was filmed in metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia inside inside the United States.
Filming for the season 1 of the series began in December 2021, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported with other TV productions taking place in Atlanta around the same time period. Now, the filming for season 2 has begun and is expected to wrap by May 2023.
In Feb 2022, another source noted that the filming was taking place near a deer statue under the working title “Zoltar” that was initially named as “Deerfield”.
Loganville, Georgia
Loganville is a small town located in the Walton country of Georgia that was transformed into the fictional town of Deerfield, Louisiana where the actual series sets in. It served as the primary filming location for the series.
During the shooting period, all the older shops were repurposed, redesigned, and painted well and the deer statue becomes the trademark symbol of the fictional Deerfield town that is standing near a barbershop.
The downtown area, city hall building, the local post office, and several barbershops of the town were reshaped into a modern & bewitching colony. One scene of The Big Door Prize also features the local Loganville police station.
Tucker, Georgia
As per reports, the neighborhood of Tucker provided a suitable backdrop to film other scenes set in the Deerfield. That’s why a complete area around Tucker was transformed into the fictional town of the series.
Echo 3 movie wrapped filming in Feb 2022 while the team of Big Door Prize was just stepped in Loganville. Some argue that the Echo 3 was filmed in Colombia and yes, the movie was primarily shot in Colombia but some scenes were shot in Atlanta too.
The shooting began in Dec 2021 and wrapped somewhere around April. The marketing co-ordinator of the town shared that the shooting took place from early Feb 2022 through April 2022.
