Time for celebration guys, The Night Agent Season 2 is officially happening. The show will return for a 10 episode second season on Netflix with Gabriel Basso as the main star.
Created by Shawn Ryan and Karl Gajdusek, the action thriller series follows a low-profile FBI agent named Jack Goodwin, who is working under the president’s house without any problem until he stumbles upon a conspiracy while investigating a phone call.
The crime suspense telelvision series is produced by James Dodson and Nick Bradley under MiddKid Productions, Exhibit A, Project X Entertainment and SONY Pictures Television.
Will there be a second season of the night agent?
Indeed, there will be a second season of Night Agent as the series has been officially renewed for a season 2 by the original network in March 2023. It was quick, wasn’t it.
Netflix made the renewal announcement through their official Twitter account with a short video teaser that highlights some crazy action scenes of Jack Goodwin accompanied by the message at the end, “Mission Accepted: The Night Agent Season 2. Coming 2024 💥“.
Fans expressed their gratitude on social media by commenting below the renewal posts on Instagram and Twitter while speculating the plot of upcoming season, the same fans have been waiting for You season 5 on Netflix.
While some fans were praising Basso for his outstanding performance in the series, others were showing their excitement over the new season while appreciating the first season.
When will season 2 of Night Agent come out?
As of April 2023, the show has been renewed for a second season and is currently under production. While an exact release has not been announced, the teaser showed that the Night Agent season 2 will come out in 2024.
Also, it has been confirmed that the second season will have ten episodes in total with an average runtime between 45-56 minutes. All of those new episodes will be exclusively streaming for Netflix subscribers.
While season 1 took almost three years to produce, the season 2 is going to release very soon in 2024. It might arrive even before Outer Banks season 4 if the filming will began soon.
Who will return to cast in The Night Agent Season 2?
Three new actors have been added for the second season, the first one is Zoey Deutch, Rami Malek, and Tahar Rahim.
Zoey Deutch is added into the cast list as a young journalist Zoe who will be involved in the conspiracy along with Goodwin. She is an American actress popular for starring in Vampire Academy, Not Okay, and Zombieland: Double Tap.
Rami Malek is taking over the role of a villainous character as Omar in the sequel season. Omar is the sigma leader of an extremist group. The actor is known for Bohemian Rhapsody, No Time to Die, Papillon, Night at the Museum, and The Little Things.
Tahar Rahim will be seen in the role of another supporting character Hicham, as the high-ranking member of a foreign intelligence agency. The French actor gets the breakthrough with A Prophet (2009 film), The Serpent, and now starring in Extrapolations series.

A short teaser has been released by Netflix that shows a flashback to the season 1 with some of the best action scenes. However, an official trailer for the The Night Agent season 2 is still awaited.
Season 1 Recap
The series begins slow and we are shown that Jack is working as an FBI agent in White House.
One day, a phone rings and pulls our hero into a larger conspiracy where he discovers there is a mole within the government who is planning to disturb their country’s security.
As the story progresses, the series got pace and our low key-FBI agent moves on the track to bust those moles with the helpe of his partner Frank Novak, his love Maria Torres, and some other intelligence officers.
Finally, Jack and his team confronts the criminal mastermind but the conversation goes into a complete different direction that no viewer has expected leaving the potential for a second season unlike Treason season 2 where the lead was found dead at the end.
What to expect from the Night Agent Season 2?
Season 1 of The Night Agent was full of political thrill with danger at every turn. We are expecting the second season to continue the story right where season 1 left off.
Night Agent is going for a global conspiracy that involves an evil pharmaceutical company. So, it is evident that the production team will shoot across various locations outside the United States or they will use a studio and soundstage.
Moreover, the upcoming season will introduce us to several new characters as an intelligence officer named Grace (Jessica De Gouw). Instead of having an conspiracy storyline, the Night Agent season 2 will dive into the personal life of Jack and his romantic relationship with Maria Torres.
