The Watcher Season 2 is an upcoming installment of the true crime thriller series created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan for Netflix.
It seems weird to hear that the series is getting a sequel because it was supposed to be a limited series when it first came out but this is Netflix, where nothing is impossible.
The Watcher was one of them while the other one was Dahmer that was able to secure the top spot on Netflix in the following week of release and outperform all other TV shows of the network.
Will there be a Watcher Season 2?
Following the success of season 1, Netflix has officially renewed The Watcher for a second season. Moreover, Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan have promised to bring two more similar series that will focus on other monstrous figures who have impacted the society in a weird manner.
While some greatest hits of Netflix like Wednesday, Terminal List, Enola Holmes, and The Recruit season 2 are awaiting renewal, The Watcher has been greenlit for another season.
Despite facing a huge drop in viewership in the third week of airing, the series has been renewed for another season while Dead to Me season 4 and Firefly season 3 aren’t happening instead of gaining so much popularity.
Also, this is the final year of Murphy with Netflix and the veteran horror writer is busy in doing several projects for the same network including the second season of the Watcher but not Ratched S2. The $300 Million deal is about to end and that’s why multiple projects of Ryan are on the way for Netflix.
When does The Watcher Season 2 come out?
Even though, a 2nd season of Watcher has been confirmed, a release date is yet to be announced. It will be decided after the completion of filming and as of now, Netflix hasn’t posted any updates regarding the beginning of shooting.
So, it will be hard to predict any release date but if the filming began in March 2023 then it will wrap around Oct 2023 and The Watcher season 2 will be released around November 2023.
It will also have a total of seven episodes with an average runtime of 50 minutes. All of them will be available for streaming on Netflix exclusively for the subscribers along with Wednesday Season 2 and many more originals.

Currently, no cast member is confirmed to appear in the upcoming season of The Watcher 2022 but if that season will continue the same storyline then we can expect the return of the following characters:

The Watcher Season 1 Ending
In the season 1 finale episode, Theodora confesses to dean on her deathbed that she was the Watcher. She took all the blame to herself by saying that she had sold the house to Brannocks so that she can afford her cancer treatments.
When she realized that she didn’t need to vacant the house, she become vengeful and resentful. The woman has an explanation for everything but after her death, Maureen informs dean that all stories of Theodora were made up. But later on, it was revealed that Theodora has just cooked up the story.
She wasn’t even the residence of 657 Boulevard and she has nothing to do with the Westfield Country Club as she had claimed to be the member of the club. Moreover, her daughter confirms that her mom’s confession was unreal. She made up the story to give Brannocks some closure.
What to expect from The Watcher season 2 plot?
This is tricky question because the network hasn’t make it clear that the second season will be a direct sequel or a brand new anthology series that will focus on another creepy personality.
Even though, the mysterious watcher identity is still unknown, we are still expecting that The Watcher season 2 will come up with a brand new story because the last scene ended on a complete note when Nora looks back at the house one more time and drives off her car.
Also, the story of season 1 was based on a 2018 article written by Reeves Wiederman for New York Magazine The Cut that explains the whole story of 657 Boulevard and everything related to it. That story is already covered in the first season.
