Is The Winchesters season 2 happening? Has The CW network renewed the show for another season?
We will finally get our answer in May 2023 as two months will be passed since the premiere of last episode on 7 March 2023 and fresh ratings will be available.
Created by Robbie Thompson, the fantasy horror series is based on Supernatural that follows the early years of the Winchester family and their supernatural origins. The show has been produced by Jensen Ackles who is also starring as Dean in the series.
Will there be a season 2 of The Winchesters?
At the time of season 1 finale, we were completely cluess about the second season but in April 2023, we have some possibilities and hopes for the upcoming season of the show.
The executive producer Ackles has revealed in a recent talk with EW that everybody involved in the series is really proud of it and he’s hoping for a second season.
However, the network hasn’t made any official statement regarding the arrival like a potential season 3 of the Flight Attendant series.
Is Winchesters worth watching?
If you are a Supernatural fan then Yes, it will help you in exploring the roots of Winchester family but if you haven’t watched even a single episode of it then it may be challenging to fully appreciate the show.
Fans are loving the series for its immersive background and marvelous acting of Jensen Ackles. However, this is not upto the original show’s standards as the chemistry between the main protagonists is missing that was quite good in the Supernatural (2005-2020).
When is The Winchesters season 2 coming out?
Season 1 of the series was announced in June 2021 as a prequel to the long-running hit television series ‘Supernatural’ that will focus on the parents of Sam and Dean, how they met and how they become Hunters.
On 3 Feb 2022, a pilot was ordered under the direction of Glen Winter and on 21 March 2022, the main cast was revealed. It was confirmed that Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger will cast as Mary and John.
Filming began in April 2022 around New Orleans and wrapped by Dec 15 of the same year but the first episode was already released on 11 Oct 2022 when the filming of other episodes were underway.
The Winchesters season 2 isn’t yet officially announced but if it gets renewed for a second season in May 2023 then Winchesters season 2 Episode 1 will be released around September 2024. There will be thirteen new episodes with an average runtime of 41 minutes.
Has a trailer been released?
As the time of writing, no trailer or teaser has been released by The CW network but whenever it becomes available, we will update this article with it.
Who will be in the cast of The Winchesters season 2?
Meg Donnelly will return as Mary Campbell while Drake Rodger return to play his role of John Winchester along with the beautiful bookstore owner Ada Monroe (played by Demetria McKinney).
Nida Khurshid as Ltika Dar, Bianca Kajilch as John’s mother and Jojo Fleites as Carlos Cervantez, a confident fighter against the demons.
Jensen Ackles will return as the narrator who’s also starring as John and Mary’s son in the series along with Gil McKinney as Henry, Tom Welling as Samuel Cambell, and Bridget Regan as Rockin Roxy.
Other characters were in the guest role so they may or may not return for another season like

What to expect from The Winchesters season 2?
The showrunner Drake Rodgers has discussed in a recent interview with Nerds & Beyond about the possible directions in which the show could take in a potential second season.
Rodgers said that the show will continue to explore the history of Winchesters family that might take us even to 1800s. Some are saying that we will see a crossover between Supernatural and The Winchesters.
