It would be too early to say anything because the season 1 has just premiered. Netflix usually takes 1-2 months to renew a series until it performed exceptionally well like The Night Agent series that has been renewed within one week of release.

The current status of Unstable series is neither renewed nor cancelled but considering the rising viewership and positive appraisal from viewers all across the globe, the series is likely to be renewed.

When does Unstable season 2 come out?

Season 1 was announced in April 2022 by Netflix with Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe as exec producers. Filming began on 22 June 2022 and wrapped in Sep 2022 within LA, California, United States and the series took almost a year to release on 30 March 2023.

If Netflix made an announcement in May 2023 that the series has been renewed for a second season then Unstable season 2 will be released around April 2024 on Netfilx. It will have eight episodes in total with an average runtime of 25 minutes.

Who will return in season 2 of Unstable?

Whatever happened to the show, the Lowes will always be a part of it. When Rob Lowe is starring as the CEO and founder of a biotech company Dragon, his son John Owen Lowe is acting his son who visits his narcissitic and eccentric father following the murder of his wife.

Sian Clifford plays Anna, the CFO of Dragon. She is an efficient and no-nonsense professional who is doing her job seriously. Her character has been praised by viewers for her sharp wit in season 1 so she might reprise her role in the potential second season of the series.

Most of the characters remained the same in workplace comedy series like in The Office, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn 99, Superstore, or the UK sitcom The IT Crowd. So, we are expecting the return of almost all cast members in Unstable season 2:

  • Sian Clifford as Anna
  • Rob Lowe as Ellis Dragon
  • Emma Ferreira as Ruby
  • Aaron Branch as Malcolm
  • Rachel Marsh as Luna
  • John Owen Lowe as Jackson Dragon

Is there any trailer out for season 2?

Only season 1 trailer has been released on YouTube. We need to wait longer to see an Unstable season 2 trailer/teaser because the show hasn’t recieved a renewal yet.

What to expect from Unstable season 2?

At the end of first season, the best friend of Ellis’s late wife Jean calls a meeting to kick the present CEO out of the company due to his erratic and rude behavior. The board members of Dragon Biotech decides that they must vote to throw Ellis out of Dragon if they want to continue the business in peace.

Jackson and Luna are shown kissing each other in the middle of chaos and the last scene shows Ellis and Anna discussing their new technology of making concrete from captured carbon. The episode ends as the two plan to show their thing to board members.

While we don’t know specifically what’s going to happen in Unstable season 2, we are expecting the series to focus on the relationships and dynamics of the biotech company along with their personal challenges and conflicts that arise after the removal of Ellis from the Dragon.
