Netflix has proven once again that they are the boss when it comes to mysterious teenage drama TV series. Fans started searching for a Wednesday Season 2 right after binge-watching all the eight episodes of the first season.
But is there a season 2 of Wednesday yet? Is it coming out on Netflix? Wednesday offers a new take on the 1960s Addams family created by an American cartoonist Charles Addams.
The supernatural television series has become an internet sensation and the social media is flooded with the epic scenes of Wednesday Addams from the series. Kids are copying her dance style and drawing the thing on their hands.
Is Wednesday renewed for Season 2?

Netflix has officially renewed the Wednesday series for a second season. The second season has been officially confirmed by Netflix with a short video announcement highlighting the most sensational shorts on TikTok from the season 1.
The showrunners shared their plans to bring at least three to four seasons of our beloved horror comedy series while keeping a flexible storyline. Millar also says that when we sit down to create a show, we are always looking at the future.
So, you lay out at least 3-4 seasons worth of potential storylines. We have a pretty clear runway of what we want to do in the future seasons, she added.
We can understand what Millar wants to say and it’s also good for us that creators are interested in continuing the series for more seasons.
Wednesday has surpassed a Billion views
Wednesday Season 1 also broke the Stranger Things streaming record with 341.2 million hours of watchtime just after its release in November 2022, compared to Stranger Things, which had 335 million hours in the first week of premiering. Moreover, the show is able to sustain a perfect 8.5 rating on IMDb with around sixty thousand reviewers.
The internet is already flooded with lots of Jenny Ortega’s memes and the popularity of Wednesday keeps on increasing. It has already become one of the most popular series on Netflix with 1.237 Billion hours watchtime so Wednesday Season 2 is a must.
Also, the series broke the record of Netflix’s most hours viewed in a single week with 341.23 Million hrs viewed in the first week, and 411.29 hrs in the second week. Kaleidoscope is another thriller that is breaking records on Netflix and fans have already started speculating a season 2 of Kaleidoscope but that is not likely to happen.
Wednesday Season 2 Cast
Wednesday season 2 won’t be possible without the main character Wednesday Addams. So, Jenny Ortega will definitely return to reprise her role as the titular character.
Some of her family members like Catherine Zeta Jones, Luiz Guzman, Issac Ordonez, and Victor Dorobantu are also speculated to return as Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley, and Thing in the new season of Wednesday.
Moreover, her schoolmates will also return but Emma Myers may or may not return for another season. Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Moosa Mostafa, and Joy Sunday are likely to return as Donovan, Xavier, Bianca, and Eugene.

When does Wednesday season 2 come out?
An exact release date has not revealed for Wednesday season 2. But since Netflix has already made an official announcement regarding the future of the series, the release date is not far.
Season 1 was ordered for eight episodes in Feb 2021 with Tim Burton as the director, Gough and Millar as showrunners, and MGM Television as the Production house. Filming of the series began in Sep 2021 and lasted till March 2022 inside Romania.
The series was then pushed into post production that took another eight months and finally we saw the premiere of Wednesday on 23 November 2022 on our Netflix screens.
If the second season will follow the same style then Wednesday season 2 will be released in August 2024. No episode count is announced but we can expect the upcoming season to have eight episodes like the season 1.
What will happen in Wednesday Season 2?

Season 2 is going to be insane. It will reveal the secret identity of the stalker, who is secretly capturing the photos of the main girl of the show and blackmailing her. According to some fan theories, there is a high probability that the culprit is going to be a girl.
We have already seen Wednesday’s shocked face after discovering that her boyfriend was the one behind all the mishappenings at Nevermore Academy. She felt abandoned after facing the betrayal and got another shock when it was revealed that her favourite teacher was controlling her boyfriend.
Wednesday season 2 will explore more about the personal growth of Wednesday’s character. As the first season was a bit complicated, the new season is going to be smooth. It will focus on the ups and downs of Wednesday’s life and will be more about her growth as a student at the Nevermore Academy.
Also, we will see more of Addams family adventure with Miss Adams as the amateur detective solving another mystery. Even though, she has busted the culprit at the season 1 finale, there is still so much room for more episodes and that’s why Netflix is bringing a Wednesday season 2 for us.
