The series was ordered by ABC for seven episodes in August 2022 and Ramón Rodríguez was assigned the main role of Trent. Dan Thomsen, Liz Heldens, Oly Obyst, and Karin Slaughter are executive producers and the series is produced under 20th Century Television.

When the creators of the show were planning a more serialized approach with multi-episode arcs, ABC pushed them to keep standalone episodes. Viewers like you and us will decide if creators have won or the network executives in the coming weeks.
